Please petit Célin1 (who had returned to Lisieux on 2nd May),

let me know what day and time for Fr. Youf’s photo. He’s itching for you to take it… What can I say, I feel sorry for him. I spoke to him about it. He replied: “I’m waiting for Miss Céline to tell me to come! She will be alone this time I hope, won’t she?... But couldn’t I go to her house?” I can tell it is hard for him to go to Uncle’s house, well do what is best.

Mother Marie de Gonzague is not very well. Yesterday [v°] she threw up everything she had eaten! My heart was very heavy. Thank darling Aunt for all the kindness she has shown her. And I thank you, too, petit Célin. Life is so sad but I draw comfort from the lovely words my Patron St., St. Paul, wrote: “let those who mourn live as though they were not mourning, and those who rejoice as though they were not rejoicing, for the present form of this world is passing away (1 Cor. 7:30)!!!”

Do you understand darling Céline? Oh, how I love you!...
