From Mother Agnès to Céline - May 7, 1893.

Darling little Céline,

Papa is ravishing (the photo of Mr. Martin in a wheelchair, with Céline and the Guérin family, when the Guérins were at La Musse from 23rd July to 23rd August 1892). I was so happy I cried… God is so good, kind, compassionate, and gentle to those who love him and entrust themselves to Him!

I saw Fr. Youf and told him to go to your house tomorrow at 1 o’clock. Looking very happy, he said he wouldn’t be able to go before half past 1… It’s so delightful procuring such childlike happiness to this good priest and at such little cost. I thank you, my petit Célin1 for being willing to photograph him. I’m sending you the size I would like. Look how badly done it is! Your photos, especially the small ones, are real masterpieces. How nice Papa looks, especially on the little one! Sr. M. of the S.H. and Sr. Th. of the Child Jesus never tire of looking at him.

Farewell my beloved petit Célin, oh if [v°] only you knew how much Jesus loves you and how much I love you, too. I’m going on retreat tonight (7th May), do pray for me.

Your little sister

Sr. Agnès of Jesus

Our little geraniums were in pride of place yesterday before the Holy Face and I was very proud!

Tomorrow at about half past one or 2 o’clock, whatever you do don’t forget Mr. Youf. Between ½ past 1 and 2. Between ½ past 1 and 2.
