Caen, 23rd September 1891
Dearest little Sister,

I have very little time to give you, because I am constantly with Jeanne; my life these past few days is a life of devotion and I think I am carrying it out well. Besides, Jeanne is very kind and affectionate.
Darling sister, just a few words about the Visitation: I had an excellent talk with my beloved Mother in the visiting room; what a treasure God has given me in her! I have a very profound veneration for this incomparable Mother. I don’t doubt a word she says to me; it is God speaking to me through her mouth. I asked her whether she deemed it appropriate to put me in contact with the Mother Superior in Paray. She gave me two months to wait, that is to say until the 21st Nov., the Feast of the Presentation. She said “until then, don’t worry about anything, don’t think about it at all because you are placing yourself entirely under my direction, I will take care of everything, fear nothing.”
Dear Céline, I am on the cross, but I’m not complaining, on the contrary, I am happy to be there, I wouldn’t give up my place for anything in the world. I shed many tears before the tabernacle after the talk. I will tell you everything in detail on Saturday evening. I won’t go to bed without having confided everything to you, then you will understand my immense suffering, which is equal to the delicious peace that has flooded my heart, because I sense that it is God who wants all this for the greater good of my soul.
Your little sister who loves you deeply, are you not my beloved sister of tears?
[Léonie]
