From sr Marie of the Sacred Heart to Céline - October 20, 1891.

Darling Céline, I’ve come to wish you a happy feast day because you still have celebrations before you and over a thousand times more celebrations than those who are considered as fortunate in this world… You, my Céline, are sowing for eternity and soon (for life is so short) you will see Jesus bind the sheaves in your field, gather them Himself with infinite joy and keep them in his celestial barns until the day when there will be no more time (Rev. 10:6). But when all the trials of this fleeting life are rewarded [v°], then you will see that every one of your days was a day of celebration, you will see that your tears were actually smiles for eternity, your sacrifices joys, and your humiliations triumphs. You’ll see!!... And your heart, which will be delighted for eternity, won’t be able to thank Jesus enough for so many privileges of love.
Farewell my Céline, life is nought but a night’s dream, life is not life at all. True life will never have an end! Let us work here below without growing tired of the battle. Tomorrow we shall see the fruit of our sweat and tears.
Your sister Marie of the S. H.
