To my five beloved daughters in the Sacred Heart

Dear Children in Jesus Christ,

Montreal January 1, '96

My first lines are to you, just as you had this morning my first blessings and my first Mass. I feel very close to you in the Heart of the Master, united to your souls. The father and his favorite daughters make up but one.

But, alas! my sight is failing, always failing. My two bad eyes are not worth one good one; they are no longer any good for correspondence. How I envy the days when I could read and write! Do not pout with God. I even count on you all to teach me to be generous.

It is really my hope to answer each of you; but in the meantime, it was too difficult to allow the new year to pass by without having you hear a cry from my heart.

May '96 be a year of the Sacred Heart for us! It was thus that I baptized it this morning, and you subscribe to this, do you not?

I bless you with my most loving blessings.

Almire Pichon
